FACILITIES FOR RESIDENTS

The house has two floors and is a large and comfortable residence which has recently been extensively redecorated and refurnished up to the latest standards, including new double glazing, making the house as comfortable and energy-efficient as possible.

Also solar panels have been fitted in the roof and together with our two new boilers ensure an abundant supply of hot water and heating in the winter.

The ground floor is very extensive consisting of some residents' bedrooms, a large bath/shower room, a quiet room leading to the conservatory, a very large lounge/dining-room and kitchen.

Attached to the kitchen is a washroom and boiler house.

The second floor has the Manager's office, a staff bedroom, a self-contained flat for more independent residents and the rest of the bedrooms.

All residents have their own fully furnished bedrooms which can be decorated to suit their own personal tastes.

Each room has its own washbasin and there is a bathroom nearby.

The shower/bath room was completely replaced in 2009 with the latest technology which has been greatly appreciated by our residents.

We have a laundry-room with washing machines, driers and an iron.

There is also a kitchen, with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave.

Our large dining-room/lounge has a TV and VCR and is furnished with comfortable armchairs and sofas.

This beautiful house is set in one acre of gardens which are well kept by our gardener, and is divided by a stream. The house area has a large car park to the front, a secluded side garden which was beautifully landscaped in 2010 and a patio at the rear. The rear patio overlooks the majority of the grounds which are reached by crossing a large bridge over the stream. This leads on to a very large grassed area surrounded by woodland. At the far end of the grounds following a path through the wood is a large lake around which flows the stream.

On the west side of the grassed area are several outbuildings, mainly used for gardening and ground maintenance, but the final one is an activities building with a pool table, dartboard etc, where residents can socialise with each other and invited guests.

The home owns two vehicles for residents' use. The car is for taking individuals to the doctor, dentist etc should residents need them and there is a people carrier for group activities and trips. The vehicles are regularly replaced and residents are encouraged to join in choosing the new vehicles.

We try to help residents pursue their own interests away from Priory house, such as going to college or work, the local leisure centres , theatre , cinema and other local activities or groups

Residents have an annual holiday and some choose to go abroad, others like to go on a Butlins-type holiday, while others may wish to stay at the home. Residents are of course accompanied by staff to ensure a happy and safe vacation.
